Dear friends and family,
My dad, Byron Trostle, is in dire need of your love and support. In February 2020 he was ambulanced to the ER and admitted to the hospital for a blockage. During the imaging scans, they discovered large staghorn kidney stones in each of his kidney’s along with a tumor growing on his right kidney.
About a month later he was diagnosed with Renal Cell Carcinoma in his right kidney. He was then shuffled between doctors until finally having his first of three surgeries last month (November 2020). The type of surgery that he needs, due to scarring from a surgery as an infant, is more complicated and therefore it was difficult finding a surgeon that was confident enough to perform. Thankfully, he is finally in good hands and under amazing care at Swedish in Seattle.
The troubling diagnoses has forced my dad to be without work for nearly a year. As you can imagine, the medical bills are piling up and living expenses are nearly impossible to keep up with. The expenses will only continue to grow with the two upcoming surgeries. His next surgery to remove the second staghorn kidney stone is scheduled for January 22nd. The final surgery to remove the tumor on his right kidney, won’t be scheduled until after. We are hoping for a streamlined surgery schedule from here on out, but due to the Coronavirus, we could experience more delays.
The recovery process for these surgeries is greatly affecting my dad’s physical and mental health. Anyone that knows my dad, knows that he is the most genuine, kind and fun-loving person. No one makes me laugh or smile more than him and I won’t let this illness break his spirit! He truly needs all the love and support he can get. All donations will go towards medical and recovery expenses to help alleviate the financial stress and to ensure that he continues to receive the best care.
