Chennai Flood Relief
This is Ram and Sathya, hailing from Chennai.
As you may all know, Chennai our home town in Tamil Nadu (India) has been facing the worst crisis ever. #ChennaiRains, #Chennaiflood.
It is so heart wrenching to see our home town suffer and being miles away, this is the least we could do.
During this disaster, people of Chennai came together as one and worked together to help Chennai come out of its crisis. The community helped by volunteering in flood affected areas by providing food, shelter and other supplies such as blankets, medicines, sleeping mats, toileteries and many more. Members of the community and organizations came together and supported needs for short term relief. Though some of the short term needs are met, relief is still continuing and many of the areas are still affected and are unable to come out of this deadly crisis.
Through this, we plan to support certain non-profits, which support the poor and needy, that are heavily affected and are unable to sustain.
1. Udavum Karangal - http://www.udavumkarangal.org/.
Udavum Karangal is an organization that supports children, women, senior citizen and victims with AIDS. They were deeply affected by the floods. https://www.facebook.com/anupamarnold/posts/10153743040680883
Funds raised through this campaign will support them with food and other basic supplies such as toileteries, blankets, medicines, sanitary napkins etc.
2. Sivananda Saraswati Sevashramam . This Ashram supports poor children who are orphaned and is located close to Tambaram, one of the severely affected flood areas.

Also, for Chennai to get back on its feet , we will also send some of the money to the following fund.

We are planning this campaign over the next two- three weeks so that funds can arrive duly to continue working on their efforts.
Our city is in huge distress and words cannot describe how we feel. While there is still hope, faith and courage in the people of Chennai, it is immensely important for us to do our every bit to our birth city and home town and give back during this catastrophy.
