<div>I began fundraising for my gender affirming surgery in early 2022, and at the same time was referred to my nearest gender identity clinic, which is 98 miles away. Over a year later, I received a letter confirming I was on the waiting list. To this date I have not received any further communication from the clinic or the NHS regarding an appointment.

<div>It’s increasingly clear that I will have to wait many years to achieve gender affirming surgery through the NHS.

<div>In my own experience as a non-binary person my breasts cause me a lot of gender dysphoria. I use a binder to compress my chest which makes me feel a lot happier and more confident in myself, but unfortunately prolonged use of it is causing pain in my ribs and it’s not a sustainable solution.

<div>After carrying out further research and consulting with friends who have sought top surgery abroad, I’ve decided to also go down this route, as it’s a lot more financially viable and will enable me to get surgery faster.

<div>I’m fundraising for my treatment through selling artwork, holding fundraising events, and asking for compassion and generosity from you.
