Please help me realize my dream to attend Interlochen Arts Academy. I got accepted, now I just need to raise $10k to go. All donations are greatly appreciated!
Here's a bit about me...
Born in Ellensburg, Washington, and currently a student at Walla Walla High School, I'm a 15-year-old aspiring singer-songwriter. Having played the violin in elementary and middle school, I picked up the guitar at age 12 and haven't put it down since. At 13, I began performing in farmers markets all over eastern Washington State. Since turning 14, I've been performing in restaurants, winery tasting rooms, and for private events in Walla Walla. For the past 9 months I've also studied classical guitar privately with Whitman College professor, Phil Lynch. While Walla Walla is home, I yearn for more than this farming community can offer. After applying earlier this year, an acceptance letter finally arrived on July 2nd from Interlochen Arts Academy in Michigan - the oldest, most respected boarding high school for the arts in the US. Interlochen is truly an arts immersion high school for talented young artists from all over the world. Founded in the 1930s as a summer music camp, the boarding high school opened in 1962 and has turned out such artists as Josh Groban, Felicity Huffman, Jewel, Peter Erskine, Linda Hunt, Meredith Baxter, Aaron Dworkin, Bruno Campos, and many more. Although a scholarship from Interlochen will pay for a large portion of my yearly tuition, I hope to make up the rest through summer fundraising concerts and an online fundraising campaign.
