Thank you for taking time out of your day to read/share/donate for this cause. No matter how small these guestures may seem, I can assure you it is greatly appreciated by our family. This fund has been created with direct permission from Frank and Marlene Ignazzitto.
Recently, I was informed my Junior Groomsman, Franco Ignazzitto, was diagnosed with Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis and Uveitis (read about JIA here).
After speaking with his mother, Marlene, I was informed Franco was first diagnosed at 3 years old. Since then, he has been on several medications to help with inflammation such as; steriod eye drops, oral naproxen, methotrexate, and humira.
The inflammation can do two things that could result in loss of sight:
1. The inflammation can cause the cells to multiply to a point where no light can pass into the eye.
2. The inflammation of the cells can cause scaring to the eye which can cause loss of sight.
Recently, Franco has started to experience new symptoms like bloodshot eyes and pain in the eye. Humira is the ONLY medication that helps keep his joints and eyes from swelling. This is where we are asking for any assistance possible. Unfortunately, the insurance company will not pay out on any claims until our family is able to cover the first TWO months worth of medicine. Current pricing is $4,600 per month!
Medical emergencies never come at an appropriate time, but I think we can all come together to alleviate this family from the bulk of the burden.
