Nick and Jen need our help

Donation protected
Jennifer's journey began 5 years ago just a couple weeks before her 27th birthday when she discovered a lump in her breast during a self examination. After a mammogram, MRI, and biopsy she was diagnosed with breast cancer. The day Jen and her parents came home from the breast surgeon with her diagnosis if stage 2 breast cancer and the treatment plan, a bouquet of flowers and a CD were sitting in the front porch for Jen from her "friend" Nick. Jennifer's mom told Jen, " This young man cares for you more than as just a friend. " Nick stood by her through the weeks of chemo, radiation, and eventually a bilateral mastectomy. Three years after her original diagnosis, Nick and Jennifer were married. In late September, 2018 Jen was experiencing intense pain in her shoulder and she had it x-rayed. The radiologist told her that an appointment had been made with her oncologist for the next day. An abnormality in the ribcage was seen on the x-ray. The next day her oncologist shared the film with her. One of her ribs had been eaten away. A PET scan and biopsy confirmed what everyone feared. Her breast cancer had metastasized and it was stage 4. After further testing Jennifer and Nick were told that the form if breast cancer is HER2 positive. This means the cells divide and multiply at a much faster pace. Her cancer is hormone receptor positive so to slow down the spread of the disease she needs to be in menopause. So she is facing outpatient surgery to remove her ovaries thus stopping any chances for Jen and Nick to conceive. It's a lot for anyone to face, but even more for a young couple who are just starting out their lives together. Her treatment will consist of intravenous hormone therapy (3 weeks on and 2 weeks off) for the rest of her life. This will help with medical bills and treatments so that Jen doesn't have to be so strong and continue to work all the time. While she will still be continuing her job, I would like for her to know that it's ok to get some rest too sometimes without worrying about all the bills piling up. Please help with anything you can. Thank you all so much.
