Edward Costa's Medical Expenses

I have been trying to figure out a way to help my father raise some money to help with some medical expenses that he has and can not afford on his fixed income. My dad, Eddie, is in need of a lift to help him get out of bed in the mornings and back in bed at night. Some days he can not get up, just because there is nobody to help lift him. At this point my step mom Bridgett has been doing this since before they were married 25 years ago. It is taking its toll on her body. Us kids do what we can to help them out but my dad does not like for us to lift him, he is worried that it will hurt us, and honestly sometimes we just can't make it over when he is able to get up in his chair or at the time he needs to get back in bed to prevent pressure sores.
I have priced the type of lift my dad will need, he is a Quadriplegic, and the price is around $4,500. I am hoping to raise this money and a little more beause as of right now, my Dad is stuck in bed because his wheel chair needs to be fixed. It stopped working a week ago and he is having a hard time with insurance and having to jump through hoops to get it fixed or a new chair. I am hoping if there is extra money that my dad can use it toward the cost of fixing his chair or other things that he needs that would make his life easier. The main focus for this fundraiser is for my dads lift. He can use a push chair, if he must but the lift is desparetly needed. Especially because my step mom is going in for surgery soon and we have no idea what we are even going to do. It will be a while before she will be well enough to lift him. We take one day at a time, we are thankful that we still have him with us, and we will always figure it out.
