Lisa suddenly was fighting for her life!

Hi, On Father's Day, my daughter-in-law, Lisa, went to Urgent Care where they confirmed Strep Throat; later that night she went to the hospital as she had trouble breathing, later that evening, she was trasferred to a hospital in Buffalo, NY.  Going on six weeks later and she is still in ICU in serious condition.

We have almost lost her several times but I believe that many prayers and the great doctors and nurses have kept her with us, it is not her time and she is very strong.  We were so happy to see her regain consiciousness in the 4th week.

Lisa has two boys, AJ (5) and Aaron (3).  Lisa has not seen them since that day in June; she has also missed both their birthays in June & July.  She misses her babies so much.

Lisa has had many surgeries and procedures to save her life, sometimes three in one day and it is not over yet.  She is unable to breath on her own or speak yet but will be working on this in the coming weeks.  She has had pressure on her brain relieved, a hole in eacn of her lungs from the respirator, a fever, sepsis, a clot on her lung, every other day surgery in same site to clean out infection, and on and on.  I still can not believe that she has had to suffer through so much, it is like a really really bad dream.

You can imagine this has been very trying on Lisa especially and also her family and friends. The medical bills are going to be astronomical.  The doctors said that she will be in ICU for at least 2-3 more weeks while she learns to breathe on her own again and then to another floor and rehabilatation - she has a long road ahead of her.

It is my wish that while she is working so hard to recover and once she has come back home, she won't have to worry about how she is going to pay for the medical bills that her insurance doesn't cover especially since she will still be working on her recovery at home.  I want for her to come home to her family and be able to take back her life.  I think she is most deserving of this and much much more.

I love you Lisa.  The boys ask about you everyday.  When it gets hard and you don't know how you are going to push on, think about your babies and how it is going to be once they are home with Mommy and Daddy again.
