A STEM-Christmas for Honduran Kids

Donation protected

We are robotics engineers living in London, and this Christmas we will be doing a creative electronics workshop at a rural/public school in Honduras  (Escuela Zea Arismendi).

80% of the children that attend this school live in extreme poverty (this means they live on less than US$1.90/day). The school is run by the local community, and it provides kids with education and a daily meal (for some kids this is their only meal of the day).

In our effort to democratize STEM education, we want to provide these kids with a unique learning experience, that will:
1) Enrich their knowledge of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics)
2) Give them a chance to develop 21st-century skills (such as critical thinking and creativity)

We will be using tools developed by the MIT Media Lab for introducing young people to the world of electronics. Additionally, we will provide all kids with a meal, a Christmas goody bag, and all materials used during the workshop will be donated to the school.

All children should have the right to a quality education that meets the times they live in. We hope you can give us a hand in providing these kids with an educational and fun experience that they will never forget!

Thank you,

Ana & Giovanni
