My Plea for Compassion – for Help – House Fire – Smoke Damage – LeavesHome UninhabitablePlease Be Safe - Check Your Extension Cords!!!!A Chilliwack couple loses their home, all of their material possessions; yet still greater than this is the loss of their friend and beloved dog, who never made it out of their smoke-filled room. Anextension cord, silently overheating, slowly smouldering, in the closed-door bedroom, filled the room with toxic smoke taking their lives before bursting into flames. They laid sleeping, unaware that with each breath they took, their lungs were filling with toxic smoke.What was supposed to be a night away for the couple, turned into their worst nightmare. The call was received in the early morning “Your house is on Fire, come quick!” Shock, followed by absolute terror, roared thru their bodies. They couldn’t get home fast enough!! You can’t prepare for something like this to happen, there are no words to express the pain, the utter devastation. Tormented, in a state of absolute despair, they try to get through each day, not knowing what to do next or how; crippled by grief and totally overwhelmed. Emotions twisting, turning, spiralling out of control, fear runs rampant as they try to come to terms with the reality, they are now homeless, all of their life’s acquisitions, are destroyed beyond restoration. Please check your extension cords, throw any old ones in the garbage, just a strong suggestion, unplug them at night or when you are going out. Make sure your plug ins aren’t overloaded.
