Buy, shoot, and giveaway old luxury sedans!

We’re here because our audience had a legitimate idea to add to our crazy one. This began with co-host Todd saying he’d like to have a cheap VW Phaeton (Top Picture). The idea of buying a formerly high-tech $70,000+ sedan that has dropped to $5,000 seemed funny and informative to him.
Paul thought Todd was crazy. And we've joked about buying two old sedans, but finding the right one for Paul has been difficult.
Finally, after much deliberation, and flirting with a Jaguar XJR, we discovered a few of Paul's nemesis, the Maserati Quattroporte, are almost as cheap as the Phaeton!
On our Podcast (Episode 412) we talked about covering the ownership experience for TV and Web. But our small show can’t afford to buy two cheap cars that might break just to film what happens.
That’s where you, our audience, stepped in with this idea:
This GoFundMe is to raise the money to buy the cars. Roughly $10,000 to put toward purchasing them. We fully expect to have put some of the show budget in as well, plus pay for tires, oil, maintenance, and production costs to have these cars on camera, but we do need help to get it started.
This fund will help us buy the cars, make content with them in 2020, and then give them to YOU, the audience. - Or do something else if you don't want them. (Viking Burial?)
With this amount, we’ll buy them, drive them, and shoot them. We'll make buying and ownership videos for YouTube, sharing experiences and updates on our Podcast, and make a TV comparison against a modern luxury car (and that's just the ideas we have so far!)
If we don’t raise at least $8,000 by the end of October, we’ll refund all of the contributions and thank you all for trying to make this idea a reality.
This isn’t life or death. It’s entertainment, and hopefully some information and surprises along the way. Plus two of you could wind up with cars in their driveway!
