Kabagambe Alex - Founder Story.
My Mom and Dad died in 1994 in vehicle accident when I was 1 year old. I was saved by my extended family. My mom and dad were not married, I was an illegitimate child. I grew up in a slum area called Namugona a suburb of Kampala City in Uganda. Growing up, my extended parents always had a clear message for me: There is nothing more important for your future than getting a good education.
Even though neither of them had a degree, they were determined to give me that opportunity to study, care and love. And let me tell you, my education changed everything for me, opening doors I never could have imagined and allowing me to pursue the career of my dreams. For me, education meant freedom and empowerment; the chance to fulfill my potential and make my voice heard in the world.
It breaks my heart that today, there are millions of needy children in Uganda and across the globe who don’t have the chance to attend school. We know the kind of impact educating a child can have — not just for them and their families, but for their communities and their countries as well.
That’s why, as Alex, I started an organization to help children in Uganda attend school, receive care, love and shelter.
I currently have 30 orphaned children in my care who need money for school,food,clothes and medication if need be.
We are also trying to raise enough money to build a home to accommodate all these children. the house we currently live in is scraped with 30 kids and when it rains it floods the house. the house is not safe for the children.
Our landlord is threatening eviction because money is tight with making the kids basic needs and having to pay rent. We have to make hard choices sometime which results in something not being met financially.
I want every needy child in Uganda to have the same kind of opportunities that I’ve had and to be in a safe and comfortable home and I need your help to achieve this.
Every single one of us has a role to play in helping needy children get the education they deserve, and today is the right time to make that commitment. These kids need us now more then ever so we don't end up all homeless.
