That's what John told me when I asked him about his Check Engine light that was brightly shining over a year ago in his trusty old sedan. That moment was so John - funny and quick, disarming any anxiety I had about getting on the highway.
And though that car worked hard this past year, John has worked harder. Finally, today, the car gave up.
BUT JOHN WON'T GIVE UP!
does he have money? NO.
does he have an easy bus route to work? HELL NO.
does he have lots of friends and a large network of support? YES. YES HE DOES.
is he willing to ask them for money? NOT AT ALL SO I AM DOING IT RIGHT NOW.
Through some careful market research, I have found the cost of a cheap but still reliable car is around $1,500. John has 2,189 friends on Facebook. I think we can do this.
In all seriousness, John is such a wonderful person and friend. He always believes in you, pushes you, and brings out the best part of yourself that you hide away. I love him very much and I know I'm not the only one. He has done so much for us... let's do this for him.
