Buy Becky a Wedding Wig

Becky's story...

Becky was diagnosed with an aggressive form of Breast Cancer in 2016 aged only 24, she went through a period of very intense treatment including; multiple surgeries, chemotherapy, radiotherapy and hormone treatment. She finished the active treatment in 2017 and set about getting her life back on track, including booking her wedding.
Sadly, in January 2018 Becky was informed that her Breast Cancer had returned even more aggressively and only a year after finishing her treatment. So, she is now set on another 1-2 years of gruelling treatment. Like last time Becky has taken the news in her stride, continuing to laugh and smile despite the awful few years ahead.
She has recently had a mastectomy and reconstructive surgery and is set to start chemotherapy in the middle of April. Not only is this situation incredibly difficult physically, but it also takes it toll mentally, particularly as she is due to get married at the end of May.
Having chemotherapy again means that Becky will sadly lose all of her hair which seems incredibly cruel after she has spent the last year growing it back. Your wedding day is the one day of your life where you want to feel your most beautiful and sadly Becky feels she wont feel or look beautiful due to having no hair as well as some of the other side effects e.g. weight gain. Becky's wig from her previous treatment is unfortunately now very tatty and this is why we want to raise some money to buy Becky a high quality human hair wig to help her feel beautiful, confident and happy on her wedding day!
These wigs do not come cheap- they average from £800-£2,000 so this is not something Becky can currently afford herself with other wedding costs and the significant time off work she is going to require. Therefore any money donated would be so gratefully received. Any additional money raised we would like to put towards a relaxing honeymoon for Becky and Bruce after all of her treatment is finished. Becky would also like to donate some of the money to the new cancer centre being built at the RUH in Bath.

Our fundraising...

Becky's brother Dave lives in Canada and is due to run the BMO Vancouver Marathon on the 6th May.

Becky's close friend and bridesmaid Amber is hosting a 24-hour singathon in Cheltenham, also on 6th-7th May. Listen for more information on BBC Radio Gloucestershire on Thursday 22nd March at 11:10 am!

Every penny counts towards making Becky's wedding day perfect, so thank you so much for your support xx
