Buy A Priest Campaign

St. Andrew’s is a small Anglican church in Humboldt, Saskatchewan, Canada.  Due to COVID 19 our finances are almost depleted.  It is hoped by raising $300,000 we will be able to financially support a priest for 5 years. With your help we can keep our priest preaching, our talented choir singing, and our dedicated believers praising God. 

Our priest plays an important role in our community. They lead Wednesday and Sunday services, funerals, and weddings; teach bible studies and faith studies; visit parishioners who are in the hospital and the care-home, and provide pastoral care for anyone who asks for help. They also work with the other clergy in the city to provide financial support for anyone needing financial help. Our priest is involved with the local Soup Kitchen, hospital chaplaincy, the ministerial association, and the regional refugee sponsorship group. 


Small but Mighty

Before COVID 19 we would fundraise with teas & bake sales, making turkey pies, hosting fall suppers, garage sales, and renting our rooms to exercise groups, a piano teacher, and the local chapters of Toastmasters and AlAnon. These fundraisers and rentals enabled us to run an evening youth drop-in program for ages 8-16, a day-time adult drop-in program, bible studies, prayer services, and a weekly Holy Eucharist Service. Our church choir would also perform free public concerts for Christmas and Mother’s Day.

Since the beginning of the Pandemic, the government restrictions have limited us to minimal activities. On the positive side, we decided to use this time to learn how to host virtual services, bible studies, and social activities on Zoom. This has helped us to keep in touch and attend church services, unfortunately this hasn’t helped our finances.
