Dear friends and family,
As I have been busy with college and applying to medical school, I feel called to go on a medical trip to serve the unfortunate of this world by bringing quality healthcare to their homes. This summer, I am excited to say that I will be going alongside a medical team to serve the local people of South East Asia.
The goal of this trip is to love the locals through using medical and dental care as a medium. Taking care of others through providing for their physical needs is one profound way to love one another and create a better and more unified global society. Furthermore, I will be playing the saxophone as a way to reach out to the local community. Music is a universal language and has the power to cross cultural boundaries and unify our hearts in the enjoyment of tune and song.
While God has opened the door for me to serve these locals, the exciting part is that you can be part of this trip as well. The first and most important way that you can be part of our team is through prayer. We need prayer for the logistics of this trip, such as medical supplies and coordination of care at the clinic site. Furthermore, we will need prayer for our hearts to be ready to serve and love these locals.
Another way that you can take part in this trip is through provision of financial support. The total cost of this trip is $2800 and we have secured about half of the amount through my personal savings and funding from Living Stones, my church family. These funds will be used for various medical and dental supplies, residence funds and transportation funds. Your participation, small or big, in acquisition of these funds would be greatly appreciated. Every dollar counts! Your contribution will go towards International Friendship Summit, a non-profit, non- religious 501(c)3 organization, which is the organization that is funding this trip.
