Bustas Christmas Nightmare

Donation protected
Busta has had a very rough Christmas this year and we now need your help to bring him home.  He is old, 14 wonderful years but other then a little arthritis he was in full health a few days ago.

This is what happen.....

For Christmas I thought I was being a good mum and purchased my Busta a Kangaroo treat (from the pet shop), which he just thought was fabulous. I gave it to him early Christmas morning, as we were then going of to my sister’s for the day where there were already another 3 dogs in the house.

Christmas day was great he went for a morning walk to the beach with his cousins, had a swim in the pool and got a cool new bandana that he wore all day.  He was completely exhausted by the time we got home, but little did I know the poor guy would have already been feeling terrible and possibly in pain.

He then woke me up at 3am Boxing Day morning with a little vomit nothing that really alarmed me at this stage. As the day progressed he wouldn’t eat his regular food and vomited a little more. So like normal when he has an upset tummy I cooked him some chicken and rice he ate it all up pretty quickly.

Again little did I know that food had nowhere to go, the treat he had eaten on Christmas morning had lodged in his intestines causing blockages.

After multiple scans, X-rays, blood tests it was confirmed that Busta had 2 blockages caused by the kangaroo treat, it was then that the specialist advised surgery was the best option. This is where the dollars start to go up extensively. At $3,500-$4000 for the surgery and the daily aftercare costs of $600-$700 (not to mention costs of all the tests beforehand). Now recovery isn’t going as well as planned his stomach is still upset and taking longer than hoped to get back to normal. The vet also just informed me that daily care cost will increase over the weekend.

I will do anything for Busta and I am hoping that YOU can help me by donating any little bit towards his hospital bill, any donation would help us massively right now. I am a full-time student and work 3 causal jobs but unfortunately, my savings are not enough to pay for the bill that is already around the $7000 mark and going up daily. I have tried to get a bank loan but as I am a student I am not currently eligible.  I am getting some family help, but the bill has now gone beyond their limit also.  I am at the stage that I don’t know what else to do.

I don’t have insurance because when Busta was younger pet insurance was so new and pointless.  I wish I had looked at it again, but unfortunately I didn’t.

I WISH I HAD NEVER GIVEN HIM THAT TREAT! But I did and now my number one priority is to get him better. But sadly I need a lot of money to do so.

I have had Busta since he was 6 weeks old, he has been by my side for just over 14 years.  PLEASE HELP MY BEST FRIEND FEEL BETTER!!
