On behalf of the Bushfire Help, I ask for your collaboration to help us fund our platform that will offer an efficient way to alleviate the devastating impact of the Bushfires in our treasured country. Bushfire Help aims to connect people who are keen to help with the key organisations that really need it. We will use our combined social media network as a major channel to spread our key message in order to expand our community and receive more assistance.
Our key goals with this project are to:
1. raise enough funds to continue to develop the platform;
2. use our combined social network to help organisations expand their reach to receive more donations;
3. connect more volunteers with organisations and companies that require help;
4. raise awareness about the bushfires and its impacts;
5. consolidate all relevant information on the bushfire crisis into one platform; and
6. alleviate the devastating impact of the fires (and future disasters) through improved and consolidated data collection.

The fires continue to burn, and even though I feel constantly exposed to the issue, and organisations requesting help; it still feels as though it’s difficult to connect to a cause that resonates, and to find accurate information online about lending a useful, ethical hand. Our platform will gather all relevant online information relating to helping out with the bushfires into one easy to use channel. Users will be able to give help according to their personal interests, skills, budget, location, and availability.
Our expertise in user experience and technology allows us to declutter and re-organise all the information found on many websites and organise it into one easy to access, understand and navigate the site. Our interface will provide access and empower users to help in any way they can, according to interest and location. Whether that help be financial or by volunteering their unique skills and experience. We have developed a very simple but powerful way to engage with our users and keep them up to date with the bushfire crisis, by gathering information from the top channels of communication.
Our first step will be to raise the funds to commence building a platform capable to perform the core functions described in this document. We aim to connect with at least 30 businesses that provide some crucial support to the bushfire crisis, who will receive help through our platform upon launch. We have been supported by many design agencies and professionals within the industry, but we are now at a stage where we rely on financial assistance to develop this platform.
We have been working on our first release for the past 4 weeks. We will release our beta site to the public on the 10th of January to determine the response and whether the platform will achieve the desired goals. The second stage of development will provide a dashboard to organisations and users. Our ultimate goal is to create a Mobile App with powerful ways to connect people and collect data so we can expand this platform to provide faster responses to any future disasters in Australia. Once the development of our application is completed, any remaining funds will be provided to the organisations registered on our platform.
