Bush School Cambodia 2018 Funding

Our friends have run a school in Cambodia for nine years to help very poor children who otherwise would be begging from tourists. These children are given schooling to help them get jobs when they leave school. To support this basic need they are also given meals at school, to nourish them enough so that they may benefit from attending school. They are given health checks and any needed dental and medical work. Without these arrangements these children would be forced back to work to help their families survive in this impoverished country.

This appeal is ongoing, as the funds raised will continue to pay for teachers, uniforms (for when the children are at school), food (several meals a week - we would like this to be daily!), medical supplies, school books and equipment.

Project fundraising in Australia is supervised by the Lions Club of Winmalee NSW and it is a great humanitarian effort by all involved which gives these children opportunities they would not otherwise have.  The school is managed on site by Salvation Centre Cambodia.

The target figure shown in AUD is the annual budget (starting April each year) for the school, which had an enrolment in 2017 of 130 children from the ages of 6 to 16. We expect about the same number again in 2018. The target amout is approximately equivalent to $USD 15,000 at the current exchange rate.
