Burns Family Medical Fundraiser

I would like to virtually introduce you to the Burns family. The Burns family consist of Andrew (dad), Amy (mom), Luke (oldest son), Ashlyn (middle child), and Ace (youngest son). Up until about 18 months ago, the Burns family were active members of Golden Springs Baptist Church, Andrew was a supervisor at the Anniston Army Depot and Amy is a first grade teacher at Wellborn Elementary. Their youngest two children are very involved in athletics while Andrew and Amy are putting their oldest child through college. About 18 months ago, things changed drastically for their family. Andrew started to have a host of medical issues that virtually popped up out of nowhere. Amy immediately started to try to find Andrew help. They have made multiple trips to the Mayo Clinic and countless trips to doctor’s appointments trying to find a diagnosis for his condition. Currently all the doctors have said that he is a medical mystery and are at a loss for what to do to treat his illness. The doctors and clinics have tried multiple medications and treatments with little to no improvement. His onset of symptoms came on very quickly after a carpel tunnel surgery. His conditions include: motility issues in his esophagus, neuropathy, hypothyroidism, daily persistent headaches, and GI issues. He struggles daily with extreme fatigue, headaches, numbness of the hands and feet, joint pain, sensory overload that exacerbates his pain due to his sensitivity to smells and noises. Prior to this mystery illness, he was a wonderful dad, husband, coach, and an employee of the Anniston Army Depot. Since falling ill, he has had to leave his place of employment and is no longer able to coach. He struggles with attending events for his children and even attending to his own personal needs. His medical problems have caused a huge financial strain on the family, as Amy is the only one able to work at this time and her teaching salary is pales in comparison to the needs of a family of 5. The family is struggling to stay afloat. So far Andrew has not responded to any of the treatments that the doctors have tried. His most recent doctor suggested a new trial treatment plan; however, this plan is not covered by health insurance and the family desperately wants to get help for him. The initial start up trial is going to cost approximately $6,700.00. There is no way that the family can come up with that kind of money at this time and are seeking help from their friends and their fellow brothers and sisters in Christ. Any contribution you can make will be greatly appreciated.
1 John 3:17 But whoso hath this world's good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him?
