Lovelock Fire Fundraiser

Donation protected
In November a fire ripped through downtown Lovelock, Nevada. It burned several historic buildings, displaced residential tenants, and destroyed local businesses. The businesses included the Plimpton Law Offices, Todd Plimpton’s Bar, a handyman service, and Mr. Murphy’s Bookstore. Mr. Murphy lost his entire book collection in the fire, the handyman lost all of his tools. Displaced residents lost their belongings.

Luckily no lives were lost, and it is thanks to the brave firefighters in Lovelock that the fire stopped where it did.

Lovelock is the County Seat for Pershing County, a tight-knit community of ranchers and miners. While rich in history and community, Lovelock could use some love itself to help support those who have lost their homes and livelihoods just at the out-set of winter (it’s a real winter out here in Northern Nevada), and just as the holiday season kicks off.

This fundraiser is organized by Jordan McKinney. Jordan runs the Pershing County Senior Center, providing over 100 meals a day for older folks, and she’s mama-bear to eight lucky younger folks. Please donate what you can and help some people feel a little extra love leading up to the holidays.
