Burial for Tio Jess

His life was one of survival. From his call to duty as a Navy Seaman during the Second World War to the many medical battles that ensued thereafter, consequential to the hazards of that war. And his final battle, just completed, was fought under his terms … with his strength, his fortitude, his way. We are here to honor a family member, a friend and a loved one. And with your caring help, Tio Jess will be peacefully laid to rest with the dignity, respect and love that we as a family have bestowed among the many other love ones who have gone before him.
My Nino was a modest man who lived a modest life. His send off will also be of humble means yet abundantly filled with the richness of our Catholic faith. A sacramental church service, memorial eulogy and then a spirit-filled ceremony with final internment at the San Fernando Mission Catholic Cemetery. This will be made possible with the aid and love of all who have come to call Tio Jess family. My Dad (Tio Ray) has asked me to put together this page in part as a fulfillment of a promise he made to my Mom in which he stated that he would watch over her beloved Brother. For that reason and whether or not this request reaches its monetary goal, my Dad has committed to whatever balance may still be due thereafter.
Our goal is to reach $3,500. This will cover the minimum above mentioned expenses presenting to Tio Jess a dignified burial. My Dad also wanted to state that if any monies are left over after the expenses have been covered, then the balance would be presented to Tio Jess’ wife, Anik on behalf of all of us, who has faithfully watched and cared for my Nino over the last 14 years.
Thank you in advance to all who can contribute. We realize that times may be tough for some of us, but any amount you can share will be deeply appreciated. We have a beautiful family with beautiful tenets of respect, support and unity that has been displayed time and time again throughout the generations of our family.
