Bully Dog Emergencies
Donation protected
As you are probably all aware our UK Government are bringing into affect a Ban on XL bully ownership as of 1st February unless exemption is applied for before then and guidelines are followed in order to keep possession of an XL bully ‘type breed’
Although control is absolutely needed to manage the over breeding and poor ownership of these types of dogs.
There are huge flaws in the make up of the new regulations that are now leaving thousands of innocent, loving dogs at risk of PTS.
1. Rescues and charities who have taken in such dogs after 31st October will not be able to re home these dogs after 31st December meaning these dogs will have to remain at already overpopulated kennels, or be PTS.
2. Local councils and housing associations are wrongfully advising tenants they will not allow such types to live in their properties once the ban comes into place, even if you have followed guidelines and registered exemption. Leaving many with the agonising decision of choosing between their home and their animal.
3. In the midst of a mass abandonment of these types of dogs from uncommitted owners, veterinary are being left at breaking point with healthy dogs being brought in for euthanasia as they are no longer wanted.
4. The guidelines are vague, because the XL Bully is a crossbred and not a pedigree type breed. Meaning those dogs who are not deemed XL bully but ‘could’ class as ‘bully type’ and fitting within the measurement criteria also stand at risk.
The government have got their blinkers on and despite multiple campaigns, and a legal dispute, the empathy of our Government, many of whom are dog owners, has gone out of the window.
This is a truely heartbreaking time for dog lovers across England!
To do what I can in order to help at such a critical time I have offered to provide and assist in transport for some of these dogs who are lucky enough to secure space in a new home or in a rescue where the ban is not affective (Scotland/ Ireland)
22/02 I have been & continue to give up all of my spare time outside of working to help where I can with these poor innocent dogs with as much support as I possibly can. It began as helping transport dogs to safety, which with the over whelming amount of help needed has meant me giving every second of my spare time & all of my own money to endlessly help dogs as much as I can as just one person, with a little network of trust worthy bully dog lovers who are just doing what we can to keep as many dogs safe as we can!
Whether it be rescuing dogs from horrendous situations, helping with transport, placing dogs in foster, or rehoming, providing food, muzzles, flea and worm treatments.
With helping any dog comes an over whelming amount of costs.
I have currently spent hundreds of pounds of my own money to help these dogs, in addition to the kind contributions I have already received via the GoFundMe but I am struggling, and I am currently desperate for help to provide the following for a dog that has come for a particularly abusive home in order for her to go to safety properly;
A muzzle/ A safe Collar & lead / Food
A Bed & fuel for a 4 hour round trip.
Thank you ❤️
