Bulletproof Helmet Fundraiser
The R.P.D. Needs Our Help
With the increasing amount of active shooter incidents across the country this year, law enforcement experts are recommending that police departments nation-wide purchase bulletproof tactical helmets for their officers.
These helmets have been proven to be life saving in situations like the Orlando Nightclub Shooting, during which an officer was shot in the head but survived thanks to his tactical head gear.
We here at Mason's Cellar are proud members of the Rutherford Community and are even more proud (as we're sure many of you are) to count the members of the Rutherford Police Department as our family and friends. After hearing about the recommendations for helmets, we decided to take action and purchased one for the RPD with our proceeds from the Labor Day Street Fair. Our donation, combined with the donations of several generous families in town, has brought the helmet count up to 5. But, we know that isn't enough. The RPD currently has 15 cars in its rotation.
Our goal is to raise $5,000 to purchase bulletproof tactical helmets for the remaining 10. And that's where we need your help. Any amount that you can give to help us towards our goal is greatly appreciated and all proceeds will go directly to the Rutherford Police Department for the purchase of this equipment.
We expect our men and women in blue to be there to protect us, and now it's our turn to protect them.
