The launch of the Bulamu "Raise Your Voice" Community Foundation will be this Friday, September 15th!
In a partnership with the Global Livingston Instiute, Isabelle Fries has a vision of incubating sustainable community development initiatives in East Africa through music and education.
The concept behind the foundation grew out of Isabelle’s involvement with the GLI’s iKnow Concert Series. The concert series convenes people through the power of music and the arts to provide access to health services in hard-to-reach communities in rural Uganda.
The foundation will follow the GLI’s mantra of listening and thinking before acting as it pertains to finding solutions to complex social issues in developing countries. Working in conjunction with the GLI’s existing network of partners that cut across all sectors in East Africa and the United States, the foundation will take an innovative approach to supporting community projects.
The launch of this foundation will also be announced to the community in front of an estimated 10,000 person crowd in Kabale, Uganda at the final show of the 2017 iKnow Concert Series.
