Building Homes in Ecuador 2017

Hey everyone!
I am thankful to be given the opportunity to travel to Ecuador in August 2017 with an organization called Help, Learn and Discover (HLD) to build houses for survivors of a 7.8 magnitude earthquake. This earthquake hit the coast of Ecuador, destroying homes, schools and hospitals in the coastal cities and towns. Over 600 individuals were reported dead and 16 000 were injured.
Help, Learn and Discover (HLD) is a volunteer organization approaching its 12th summer building homes and providing hope to families in the poorest regions of Ecuador. HLD students have fundraised over 1 million USD and constructed 150+ homes in Ecuador since 2005.
I'll be travelling to Ecuador with other students from Canada and the US, to help build 20 earthquake-resistant homes. Each home will have two bedrooms, one bathroom, a kitchen, a living area, and running water/electricity. The cost to build each home is approximately $5000 USD.
How can you help?
With your donations, we will be able to purchase the supplies necessary to build each home. All supplies will be purchased in Ecuador from local stores to further support the local communities. 100% of your donations will go directly towards building these homes! Any excess funds will go towards medical expenses and surgeries for families who cannot afford treatment. No fundraised money goes towards administrative fees or wages associated with running the HLD programs.
In otherwords, all of the money donated/raised will go towards the people of Ecuador. None of it will be used personally nor to finance this trip!
My ultimate individual goal is to reach $2000 USD by August. I will be taking on other initiatives outside of GoFundMe in order to fundraise for it but I truly appreciate every single donation.
