Every year, over 2,000 youth age out of care in Quebec—most with no safety net. Within a year, many face homelessness, food insecurity, and unemployment. Without stable housing, their chances of success drop drastically:

Youth from care make up 58% of homeless youth in Canada.

Only 17% of youth aging out of care in Quebec obtain a high school diploma.

Just 1% complete a post-secondary degree.

For many, this is not a failure of the individual—it is a failure of the system. These young adults deserve dignity, security, and a fair start in life. That’s why we are launching this urgent campaign: we need $50,000 to provide housing and holistic support for young adults transitioning out of care.

Breakdown of $50,000 Housing Fund for 4–6 Beneficiaries (One Year)

The $50,000 raised through the GoFundMe campaign will be used to address housing and essential

needs for 4 to 6 young adults transitioning out of care. This funding will help provide stability and

support to those most vulnerable while creating a foundation for independence and success. Below is

a detailed breakdown of how the funds will be allocated:

Housing Costs: $36,000

Monthly Rent: Approximately $750 per person for safe, transitional housing.

Number of Beneficiaries: 4 to 6 individuals.

Duration: One year (12 months).

This ensures secure, stable housing, preventing homelessness and providing a safe space to rebuild

their lives.

Utilities and Maintenance: $6,000

Utilities: Includes electricity, water, and internet to ensure a comfortable and functional living

environment.

Maintenance: Covers repairs and upkeep to maintain housing quality.

3. Program Support Services: $5,000

Life Skills Development: Workshops on budgeting, employment readiness, and independent living

skills.

Peer Support Groups: Facilitated sessions to provide emotional and community support.

Access to Mentors: Connecting beneficiaries with professionals to guide them in career and personal

intervention, these young adults are at high risk of falling into cycles of poverty, isolation, and
