After recently moving from the city to the country, I’m working hard to build a better life for my two children and myself. The slower pace and friendly community have brought us happiness and a sense of safety, but the transition has also come with new challenges. As a single mom, I recently settled a custody case and adopted my children after their biological dad signed away his parental rights and responsibilities. Taking on this responsibility alone has been both rewarding and difficult, and I am determined to give my children the best life possible.

I’m currently without a job and finding work has been difficult, especially with my youngest, F, at home all day. Without affordable daycare, I’m unable to work and provide for our basic needs. My daughter D, who is 5, just started kindergarten and dreams of taking ballet classes. She loves to dance and I want to help her pursue her passion, but right now, I can’t afford the lessons. My son F, who is 4, enjoys spending his days with me, but I know he would benefit from more social interaction and activities. With no family nearby—everyone is back in Missouri—support is hard to come by, and I’m doing my best to make ends meet on my own.

We’re seeking help with childcare, necessities, rent, and groceries, as well as the chance for D to join dance lessons. Any support will help us settle into our new home, give my children opportunities to grow, and allow me to work toward a more stable future for our family.
