We’re so glad you’ve found your way here — because today, we need your support.
Or more accurately… the horses in Portugal need you.
Founded by veterinarian Christa Seiler, SMVC is a volunteer-run, mobile veterinary clinic that rescues, treats, and rehabilitates neglected, abused, and abandoned horses, donkeys, and mules across Europe — especially in Portugal, where the situation is heartbreaking.
Every week, we receive calls about horses in dire conditions:
- Starving in dry, barren fields
- Wounded, untreated, or unable to walk
- Chained, or used beyond exhaustion
SMVC steps in with urgent, free veterinary care, food, and safe relocation. Our fully equipped mobile unit allows us to reach animals that otherwise have no hope.
But there’s a problem:
We don’t have a permanent home for the animals we save.
That’s why we are raising funds to build a dedicated sanctuary in Portugal — a place where rescued horses can recover fully and live without fear, hunger, or pain.
