Who We Are

Stichting De Noordelijke Horizon (SNH) is a foundation established in 2023 to serve the northern provinces of the Netherlands, including Groningen, Drenthe, and Friesland. Our mission is to build a harmonious society by promoting integration, active citizenship, education, art, and culture. We believe that an inclusive and engaged community is the key to a prosperous future for all residents in our region.

Our Impact So Far

In 2024 alone, we successfully organized numerous activities that brought people together:

Youth Empowerment: We provided value-based cultural coaching, chess lessons to improve strategic thinking, and creative design workshops for young people.

Community Connection: During Ramadan, we hosted iftar meals that fostered love, tolerance, and understanding across different backgrounds.

Celebrating Togetherness: Our first Summer Festival, held in July 2024, welcomed children and adults alike to celebrate diversity and inclusion in a hospitable atmosphere.

The Challenge: Room to Grow

Our success has led to a major challenge: we have outgrown our current space. To continue providing a safe and professional environment for our participants and volunteers—who are the backbone of our success—we need a larger, permanent facility.

The Solution: Ulgersmaweg 27

We have secured a new location at Ulgersmaweg 27 with a total area of 650 m². This space will become a vibrant hub featuring:

4 extra classrooms dedicated to language courses and homework support.

2 modern meeting rooms for advice sessions and workshops.

A large 158 m² conference hall for cultural events, lectures, and community gatherings.

A spacious garden for outdoor activities and summer festivals.

How Your Donation Helps

Starting a new chapter at this location requires significant investment. Your contributions will go directly toward furnishing the classrooms, installing technical equipment in the conference hall, and developing the garden into an inviting community space.
