Build A Playground in Uganda

Donation protected
Update: We met our initial goal of $2,600 and Tender Hearts Baby Home will receive a playground!!! THANK YOU to those who contributed and shared this cause with others. It’s been wonderful to see family, friends and friends of friends donate!

It’s not too late to donate! We are raising our goal to $3,500!

We are raising this goal for many reasons. Tender Hearts has a pharmacy(picture below) that is used to support the kids residing at the home but also in the community. We would love to give additional funds to help stock their pharmacy, buy new diapers and formula, along with fresh protein such as poultry for their meals. We will travel with these funds and shop for these items with the founders of the home, Kenneth and Kathy Nganda. We are excited to share pictures as we complete the project and shop for these items.

Again, please continue to share this Go Fund Me page and if you haven’t already, a contribution is greatly appreciated. The dollar goes very far in Uganda and even $10 will make an impact on the home’s pharmacy, baby supplies and kitchen!

Build A Playground In Uganda:

We will be returning to Uganda in January with plans to build a playground for Tender Hearts Baby Home! We are asking for financial assistance in making this playground happen!

Many of you know, but some do not. Theo was born in Uganda and lived at Tender Hearts Baby Home until we were united and became a forever family. The people of Tender Hearts were Theo's family before we could be. Tender Hearts has been the biggest blessing in our lives and continues to be for so many children.

Tender Hearts offers temporary care for orphaned and vulnerable children.  The purpose of the home is to give each child shelter, love and eventually a forever family. The children enter the home in different conditions.  Some are from abusive situations, some are neglected, some are abandoned and some are orphaned.  With 30 staff members, the home is currently caring for 24 children ranging in age from 4 months to 10 years. Many of these children are healthy but many also face health issues. Some are HIV positive, have epilepsy, cerebral palsy and sickle cell.  The playground will give all the children joy but the additional swing set will provide more outdoor fun for the children with special needs.

Tender Hearts has reunited over 200 children with either biological parents or extended family. Seven children have been adopted domestically and 20 children adopted internationally, including our love, Theo! They have even started a new fostering program, currently giving 5 children the opportunity to grow up in a family home.

Our financial goal includes costs for all materials and local labor for a large play structure and separate swing set. Although Tony is handy, there is no way we can build a playground without some actual construction workers.

We must raise these funds by the end of the year in order to purchase materials prior to our arrival in January. You can be part of an extraordinary gift to a truly special home. Please give to a home that has blessed our lives and so many other children and families. We can’t wait to share photos of the work, finished product and of course, the children’s smiles when they are climbing around!

Thank YOU in advance for you contributions!

* Any funds raised over the goal will be taken with us on our trip to shop for immediate needs for Tender Hearts such as food, clothing and medical needs.
