Build a Better Future for Local Wool Farmers & American Yarn

We are putting everything we have into opening a fiber mill on our farm, with some of the historic equipment that was previously used to make Jaggerspun yarn. We were graciously given the opportunity, by the developers who bought the mill after Jaggerspun went out of business, to save this equipment from being lost forever.

After significant effort and expense making it happen, we are almost done moving the equipment to our farm -- only a few weeks left of disassembly. We are fundraising to build a barn extension to assemble the equipment into (the parts already almost filled our whole barn!) and get 3-phase power installed so that we can run the equipment.

We plan to make yarn from fiber grown on our farm Gealach Fola Acres, and once we get through our fiber stash enough to take on more, make yarn for other local farmers using their fiber. We also want to provide fairer prices to local farmers who want to sell their wool than the national wool pool price is set at -- farmers work hard and deserve better. Fiber artists should have better access to high quality, American-spun yarn made from fiber produced in America.
