My name is Omar Khalid and I am 44 years old. I’m a married man and a father to two beautiful babies. My background is in pharmaceuticals.
I’m reaching out to you because my family and I are seeking refuge in what we hope will be our future home in Canada. We fled our home country, Iraq, in fear that if we stayed any longer as Sunni practicing Muslims we would’ve been killed. We decided to flee the country overnight leaving our family, home, and belongings behind to start a new life that would give my family a safe and prosperous future. A life where they wouldn’t be in fear to practice their religion.
We escaped to Turkey where I applied for asylum to Canada, USA, or Europe. Unfortunately, I have waited for 8 years with no luck. I currently cannot work in Turkey due to thelack of jobs and having an Iraqi passport makes it almost impossible.
I am only here seeking a better and promising outcome for my kids so they don’t have to suffer as they grow older. The best chance we have is if we can settle in Canada. Canada is requiring about $30,000 to start theasylum process with the sponsor of 5 individuals. I am currently looking for any sort of help to start the process and save my family’s future.
