Bugsey's Medical Bills-Shot in Eye

Bugsey is our beloved family dog, he will be 3 years old on Halloween, he loves giving kisses, drinking out of the toilet bowl, and his favorite thing to do is run around doing "crazy dog" and spending time with his 7 year old human brother and best friend, Martin Jr.
Everything changed when our home was invaded by 3-4 men with paintball guns early afternoon on September 28, 2017 and in the midst of it all, Bugsey must have ran up to them to greet them and they took it as a threat, or came after them to protect his home and his family members and one of them shot our sweet Bugsey point blank in the eyeball. At first, we thought he was stolen by them....until the police told us to shut the dog in the room. I said "He's here?", happy as ever...until I got a closer look since he was scared and hiding under the bed and realized they shot him in the eye. I immediately broke down and wondered what kind of HUMAN BEING could do that to an animal. I stayed with him until we could take him to the vet.
The vet put some sort of artificial eyelid to cover his eye and a cone and he is on some medication for pain and anti-inflammatory purposes, we just have to wait and see in 2 weeks whether he lost his vision....or if he will have to lose the whole eye. His vet bill from the start is over 700 dollars which was put on the credit card which we may or may not be able to cover in time. I will keep updating this on any more costs related to his care. Any and every dollar will help our Bugsey. We are all heartbroken and disgusted that someone could do this to an animal. It's very hard to look at him and we are doing everything we can to keep him happy and as comfortable as he can be. I have been personally hand-feeding him and holding up a mug for him to drink since his cone gets in the way.
ALL EXTRA FUNDS THAT BUGSEY WILL NOT NEED WILL BE DONATED TO THE RESCUE THAT WE GOT HIM FROM.
They have been very sweet and helpful about spreading awareness about what happened to our boy, and were the ones who let us know that if we did not take him, he would have been killed the next day.
We saved him from that, we just ask that if you can help, it will help Bugsey and us more than you know and every dollar will be appreciated. If you can not donate, we understand not everyone is in the financial position to, please share this with everyone you know and get this out there. I will keep updates about how he is doing and I will personally tell him that everyone is praying for him and helping out with his vet bills and if he could, he would give every single person whose heart this even touches a bunch of kisses. <3
