My name is Krista and I made this GoFundMe for someone that is incredibly close to my heart—my beloved cat, Buffy. Anyone who knows me understands just how much she means to me; she is truly my entire world.

Recently, Buffy was diagnosed with Kidney Disease, Hyperthyroidism, Diabetes, and a Grade 4 heart murmur. To properly assess the cause of her heart murmur, she needs to see a cardiologist for an ultrasound, which unfortunately is beyond my current financial means. Buffy was denied pet insurance due to her breed and age, so unfortunately she won't be getting any help from that. I'm hoping to raise funds to get her radioactive iodine therapy, a non-invasive treatment that can help manage her hyperthyroidism without the need for surgery. Buffy cannot be on Methimazole due to her being at risk for complications since she has Kidney Disease. I also need to account for the costs of diagnostic procedures before and after. Even if I'm not able to get her that treatment, I'm hoping to raise money to at least help cover her CKD Prescription food that she needs to take, her daily medication for her Kidney Disease, and her insulin for her Diabetes.

I've faced several financial setbacks in the past couple of months, and it has been difficult for me to ask for help. I’ve always prided myself on being independent, but now I find myself in a position where I need to reach out. I genuinely believe that with your support, we can give Buffy the chance she deserves to lead a long and healthy life.
