Buenaventura & El Brujo Community

On October 4, 2017, Tropical Storm Nate devastated Buenaventura and the El Brujo community. Moondance groups have stayed at Buenaventura and partnered with El Brujo for our community service projects for the past 5 years.

The beautiful eco-lodge has been completely destroyed and El Brujo is now inaccessible by road due to flooding. The community is without power, clean water, shelter, or safe intrastructure. Harlow Newton, Moondance's valued guide, partner and friend has lost his home and personal possessions.

The Moondance community may be able to help with relief efforts and the provision of basic necessities to those who have lost their homes.

Our goal is to raise $2,000 to give directly to the El Brujo community. It will take years to rebuild, but we may be able to provide basic necessities to those without shelter, clean water, or food.

If you have any questions about the relief efforts, how your donation will be used or other ways that you can help El Brujo, please contact Claire at [email redacted].
