Much needed love to the Champions

Donation protected
**Update: WOW! We are now exceeding our goal set for the Champions.

Stephen is scheduled to have surgery to put in a VAD (Ventricular Assist Device) on Monday. An optimistic post-surgery outlook puts Stephen back home to then wait on a heart transplant list. It's estimated that recovery time could be up to approximately 7 months to be stable enough to fly back to P.E.I.

Therefore, despite meeting our goal, we are continuing the campaign to send anymore help possible to the Champion Family.

Once again, a heartfelt thank-you on behalf of the family for all of the generosity, the kind words and wishes, and your prayers. Please continue to keep Stephen in your thoughts and Prayers.  Whether your donation is one of monetary value, or simply a thought, word, or prayer, all is valued and much appreciated. Thank you all again! **

If most people are like me and did not understand what a VAD was, here is a link to read a little about how it works and why somebody may be in need of one.

Original story:
While working in Alberta, Stephen suffered a massive heart attack. Though this is a long road to recovery, our family is very lucky to have Stephen still with us. 80% of Stephens heart is not functioning, and the 20% that is, is being artificially supported until he is stable enough to have surgery and come back home.

It's been 3 weeks now that Stephen has been in ICU. Being from P.E.I., Stephen wanted nothing more than to be with his wife during these trying times. His Wife (Heather) came from P.E.I. to stand by his side. Of course anything sudden like this that happens in our life is difficult to plan for mentally or financially. Heather is unfortunately in a position that she is staying in a hotel and commuting back and forth to the hospital by way of Taxi. With insurance only able to cover a very small portion of this, in addition to our day-to-day bills, car payments, mortgage, etc... there is a lot of extra stress on Stephen's family, in a time where he needs the most stability and support.

Heather is the last person that would ask for help, but both Heather and Stephen are the first that would give their last dime to somebody in need.

Heartfelt gratitude to all that can support a Family in need.
