We're raising funds to help Made build a school for kids with disabilities in his village in Northern Bali, Indonesia.
Made has worked as a teacher, facilitator and helped develop schools for kids with special needs over the years, so he is more than experienced in the field. Not only does he have the necessary expertise but he has a heart of gold - both needed to lead this project successfully and create a safe space where kids from poor families and children with disabilities from the area can learn, play and grow.
Made has the land, inherited from his family, and as a start we only need to help him build a classroom, access to the land for wheelchairs and a bathroom to get the project going and be able to offer basic classes for the children.
Further on we'd like to continue with setting up a kitchen space and fixing up the pool, which would be used for physiotherapy activities for the challenged kids, then have the kids help grow fruit and vegetables in the garden space, create pathways with landscaping, build more activity centres or classrooms and amenities.
The more help we can get the more resources we can provide and the more impact we'll have on these kids' lives in creating a beautiful, sustainable learning environment. We are closely working with Made to project manage this every step of the way, so we can get the most value for the contributions and it all goes directly to contractors to construct the facilities. Every little bit we can raise goes such a long way over here. For example, the amount you might spend on a night out or a few nights in a hotel can literally build a classroom. So we can all make a massive difference together.
We will track the whole project, keeping you updated on progress and share our visits to the school and the developments with the kids. If you ever have any questions or want to know more about the project, just send us a message directly.
So join us in building a sustainable school and have real impact in these children's lives. Being able to give from the heart is such a gift and it's super special that we all even get to be in this position to give back. The gratitude that we all hold for you in believing in us and sharing in this project is beyond words and we can't wait to show you the smiles you are putting on these kids' faces.
