For the past three years, <a href="http://www.buddhistinsights.com">Buddhist Insights</a>  has offered over 100 free meditation retreats and countless talks and classes led by Buddhist monastics, at its donation-based retreat center in New York City. As the lease of the current retreat center is coming to an end, we now have the opportunity to acquire this magnificent stone monastery and turn it into a new monastery and retreat center for Buddhist Insights! Located just outside of Newark, it is accessible by public transit from NYC in less than an hour. Immersed in several acres of lightly forested parkland, it offers a peaceful refuge which will house several residents and host sleepover retreats of up to 50 people. To make this possible, we will need to reach our target amount by August 15th, 2019. This gives us the opportunity to cover the downpayment for the mortgage, which will be less than our current monthly rent.
