Bucks for Bootsie

Hi all, my name is Rylea and this is my baby sister, Maria. Maria is 5 years old often times goes by "Bootsie". Little Bootsie was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia very early on Friday morning, July 21st. This page is dedicated to help Maria and her parents feel the most comfort and ease possible during her extended treatment and this time of change. 

Suspicion began when Maria began to complain about her heart racing and her ears hurting. She had a low grade fever for a couple of days prior to getting bloodwork done. After confirming her diagnosis, the doctors prescribed a two and a half year treatment plan. Maria began her treatment on the 21st and the three weeks to follow will be the most intense of Chemotherapy.

These funds will be used to help Maria and her family pay for the treatments and medicine required for her recovery. Along with the cost of medicine, there are additional tolls on the family. Both of Maria's parents are needed at home for quite some time. Along with logistical expenses, there have also been a few unexpected, like Maria's cravings! Her medicine causes her to have sudden cravings which result in her parents scrambling to meet her wild demands. Today alone she has asked for melted cheese, grapefruit, Ready Whip, food with liquid ("that is not cereal"), two turkey sandwiches, and an entire small pot of chicken noodle soup....remember she is only 5!

She is the most beautiful human inside and out and by far the smartest little person I think anyone has met. We are welcoming any donations.
