Bucciarelli Cardiac Arrest fund

Spende geschützt
On the morning of September 26, 2018 my sister, Christina Bucciarelli (Chrissy), called me to let me know that her husband of 20+ years, Richard Bucciarelli (Rick), had a cardiac arrest at his place of employment. Through the grace of God his employer had just installed an AED machine 2 weeks prior. His co-workers started CPR immediately and then used the AED machine which shocked him back to life. Before arriving at the hospital he needed to be shocked back to life a total of 5 times.
When I arrived at the hospital I found my sister frantic, not knowing if her husband would survive and not knowing how she would explain this to her twin 9 year old sons.
After many hours, then days of waiting, it was determined that Rick needed bypass surgery. It was successfully performed the following Tuesday and everything went well.
Now comes the important part. Rick had just started working at the company the week before this happened. The family does not have health insurance. They have applied for medical assistance and also the assistance program through the hospital but have yet to hear anything.
Chrissy was finally able to return to work today 10/8/18 which means she was off work for over a week. After speaking to her this evening, I was informed that due to Rick not having insurance, the docs are not putting the internal defibrillator in as was initially planned. Instead, they are going to perform a test to see if he might need the device. They are also not sending him home with the defibrillator vest as the current funding available won't pay for it. The staff has also been telling my sister that Rick will need home health care and physical therapy and asked her if they have the means to pay for this. They do not. And at this time we have no idea how much, if any, of the hospital bills so far are going to be covered by anything.  It is very frustrating and heartbreaking!
Chrissy's biggest concern is Rick having another cardiac arrest.  Statistics indicate there is a 30-50 percent likely hood of having another cardiac arrest after the first one even after having the bypass surgery. For me and Chrissy this is just too high a number to take a chance! I've looked into purchasing a portable AED machine for them to have at home and they are not cheap. Approximately $2000.00.
The additional funds we are hoping to raise will help off set some of the medical bills, lost wages and future medical bills!
We all want to thank everyone for all the prayers and moral support you have provided so far. If you're able, please donate so we can help with some financial assistance to get them through this difficult time.

Thank you and bless you all for your prayers and support through this very trying time!!!
