hi all i am writing this because my apt management recently notified me that they have terminated the lease due to the fact me or my roommate have not been able to make payments bc of covid. she also demanded that we owe thousands of dollars in back rent and utilities and forced us to sign a legal agreement to pay it all back.
I have been able to book a few digital and creative jobs throughout the pandemic but not nearly enough to sustain all of my living expenses and basic necessities
my current living arrangement is in a rather unsafe area just a few miles away 2 Black trans women were attacked and robbed and we haven't felt safe since. there's also bad plumbing, leaks, and a huge pest problem which we weren't made aware of upon moving in. these funds will be used to get legal help and/or pay management & also help me secure safer housing in an area with not so much crime and chaos.
the funds will also be used so i can continue my physical transition as i currently don't have access to health insurance and my current provider charges $100/month for HRT and that doesn't include copays, doctors visits, and bloodwork which is already a hefty expense for someone who doesn't have a proper healthcare package. blood work is vital in my transition because i am having my hormone levels checked while also ensuring that my physical health is in shape. if i cant go to these appointments i won't be able to continue taking my hormones.
im also going to use this money for my gender marker and legal name change. Being able to legally document my preferred gender is very vital to me and my transition.
because of the uncertainty of these times i've been experiencing extreme surges in anxiety and depression and this fund is going to help me take the next steps in securing a safe and sounder future i deserve. thank you and i appreciate u!
