A car with hand controls

My name is Craig Newman I'm 33 years old and live in Virginia. My goal for raising funds is that I'm trying to get a used car for myself that could be adapted for my hand controls that I need, in order to drive. Along with the car itself my goal is to raise $2500. This figure includes the new to me car, insurance for a year, the installation of my hand controls as well as any DMV cost.
I currently own my home which has been refurbished by Habitat for Humanity. My sole source of income is social security disability which I was granted in 2009. I had a part time job as well until October 2013. Since that time I have had no gainful employment, I even tried opening my own translation business since I am fluent in Spanish. Part of me believes that it would be more successful if it wasn't strictly work from home, that I could get out in service even a larger area
Having cerebral palsy because of being abused as an infant has not limited me; and my life, with regard to having life goals. I consider myself blessed that I have a family who loves me, and they have been my family for 30 years this month. Another reason that I would like my own car it so that I could help drive my parents around and take better care of them as they age, and begin to deal with their own physical issues which include strokes, mini stroke and Parkinson's.
If I were able to get assistance in obtaining a car, insurance and the installation of my hand controls it would allow me the freedom to do my chores such as grocery shopping more independently. I always have to have someone take me I would be able to schedule doctor appointments easier, and that would not always have to rely on someone else. Not to mention the public transit system does not run by my house so an absolute cases of no one able to take me I have to call a cab which is not financially beneficial on Social Security disability. If I were able to receive a helping hand in this way I would be able to become more productive in society, decrease my stress level along with being able to help my family and friends when needed.
For those of you that are willing to help I can simply say thank you at this point, but please understand that I would be more than grateful and if ever possible I would love to be able to pay it forward or even meet some of those who are willing to contribute to this car fund
