Life Saving Medicine

Hello, my name is Shelby and I am needing help for my sister who is fighting a terrible disease and has been for 21+ years. She has been fortunate, till now, to be in mostly remission; however since May 15th she has been to the ER 5 times with severe attacks, of which she was hospitalized 4 times and spent nearly 30+ days in the hospital over these last 2 months. They are trying their best to avoid surgery, especially given she is down to 92 pounds, been on steroids now for nearly 8 weeks which has diminished her immune system and with all of the inflammation at this point it will be extremely dangerous and life threatening; however it is looking like this may be the next step. Given all of this she has been unable to work, understandably, and is a single mom. We are doing our best to help and provide support, however the bills are adding up and quickly, which is making it very difficult for her to rest and heal as she needs to do. Inevitably she will need a new medicine in order to survive, however her insurance is requiring she pay for this treatment for the first 6 months completely out of pocket before their coverage kicks in. This seems nearly impossible as this will cost upwards of $20,000 over the next 6 months not to mention the hospital bills, which are creeping upwards of another $20,000. I ask for any help you can manage as every little bit helps and adds up. My sister has never asked for help before and I know she is very uncomfortable with me sharing her story and asking for help, however we do not have a choice at this point and I am not willing to lose my sister.
