Save Bailey

As I'm sure you all know, my bunny Bailey means the absolute world to me. He is the most affectionate animal I have ever known, and I am so grateful for every minute I spend with him. I love him far more than I ever thought it was possible to love an animal (I guess that's why I have a reputation as a crazy rabbit lady...) and can't believe how lucky I am to have had him hop is way into my life.

Sadly, though, my gorgeous Bailey is ill. He recently had some teeth removed that were causing him trouble. However, over the past few days he has deteriorated massively and, until last night, it looked like I would lose my beautiful boy. It has become clear that poor Bailey has a genetic condition that is causing him tooth and stomach trouble, and that this is something that needs investigating.

Thankfully, with his amazing vets, he pulled through yesterday, and is getting by with me giving him liquid food and fluids every two hours (much to his dismay!). He is on a lot of medication but this seems to be keeping him stable which is a huge relief. ❤️

However, without further investigation and treatment, Bailey's condition will only worsen. On Monday, Bailey will be travelling to St. Helen's to see Dr. Molly Varga, a rabbit expert and wonderful vet. Once there, Bailey will have an x-ray and CT scan to try to establish the cause of his problems. I am confident that Dr. Molly will find out what is wrong with my lovely potato and enable me to do the best I can to continue to take care of him.

However, the more support Bailey is needing, the more difficult it is becoming for me to fund his treatment (though nothing will stop me from finding a way to pay for anything and everything he needs!). Unfortunately, Bailey's insurance will only cover £2000 of treatment a year, and my 'Bailey emergencies' credit card is already maxed out, meaning it looks as though I will be funding a good portion of his treatment myself. As I'm sure most of you know, I will gladly give every penny I have to save Bailey and get him back to his usual completely adorable and bonkers self, but we may need your help!

I would be so grateful for any donations towards Bailey's vet fees, however small they may be. If everyone I know donated £1, it could quite easily cover the cost of his x-ray which would be such an immense help to me and my little bun!

Thank you so much for reading. Hopefully we'll have our lovely Bailey back to his old self before we know it.
