Jerry's Road to Recovery
Donation protected
As some of you know my brother Jerry suffered a stroke recently. He has lost his ability to walk, weakness in his left arm, and vision impairment in his left eye as well. Jerry has always had the most amazing energy around him and he still does, it just comes in bursts as he experiences fatigue pretty quickly. You would be hard-pressed to ever not see him laughing, joking, or just being himself - a joy to be around. Jerry is currently in inpatient rehab for an unknown time to work with PT/OT to regain his ability to walk and be independent as he once was.
As those of you who know my brother knows that he owns a construction company building sheds for Tuff Shed/Home Depot which is a manual labor-intensive career. Jerry will not be able to continue this type of work while he is in rehab, and only time will tell if he can ever do this again. Jerry is also the Buffalo Bills #1 fan and even though he no longer lives in Rochester, NY, he established a Bill Backers bar chapter in Detroit, MI. This chapter even was awarded a charter of the month from the Buffalo Bills this past November when that horrible snowstorm forced the Bills' game to be moved to Detroit. His chapter dug in its heels and hosted many events during that week, even having a food drive to donate to local food pantries.
Jerry has always had an active life whether it is traveling, camping, going to Bills or Tigers games, kayaking with family, golfing, and much more… and he wants that life back!
I created this GoFundMe to help with upcoming medical expenses that may not be covered by insurance and to ensure that Jerry will not have to worry about other expenses. While he will be working hard to regain his strength and mobility, I don’t want him to worry about anything but his recovery.
Any amount is appreciated and will help Jerry get back to the life he had before this happened.
