The life of Martha, a caring & humble hearted woman, suddenly changed in less than a second to encounter an awful nightmare. Martha was a healthy woman with no health issues, always pro-active helping others, involved and volunteering in schools and church activities and now faces a health battle. The nightmare begun when she was doing house chores and started feeling chest & back pain and was sweating after continuous pain. She was taken to the ER twice. On the first visit she was able to walk and after have been discharged she started to have lose movement little by little. After been discharged the first time hours later the second ER visit came. She was driven back to ER due to breathing difficulties. On both visits she was diagnosed with different conditions but no additional investigation to what can be wrong was given during these two visits to ER. It took a visit to her primary physician, who found her very weak and immobilized completely with spinal cord infection to then immediately refer her back into ER for 3rd time and was kept hospitalized for further review on condition. Martha was in ICU under critical care for about 2 months paralyzed and using respiratory machines incapable to do anything but just see and hear. Later after 2 months she was moved out of ICU and was stabled in bed still not able to move and breath but conscious. About a month ago, she was successfully able to gain natural breathing power with no more need of respiratory equipment. Until this day she remains in hospital paralyzed for about 6 months now going into a new month not knowing when or how soon she will regain movement. Her progress has been very slow creating some days to feel emotionally down. Within this time she has come across lack of nursing care that has made her go through some uncomfortable practices.

This unpleasant nightmare has impacted and affected her family emotionally putting them into a hardship. Her husband has been playing the most important role to maintain strong and be there for Martha and her children. He is next to Martha day and night since day one to avoid a collapse due to malpractices and to motivate his wife to fight this condition and recuperate. This situation has tied his hands and is unable to return to work. The family and friends continue to pray keeping their faith high in God for Martha’s full recovery and return to her home.
