Bryen's Medical expenses

Donation protected
Bryen Graver is 27 years of age, living in Kirkland, Washington. Recently, Bryen got hired on as a graphic/web designer at an automotive supply company, but until then, he worked for Northshore Community Church. Bryen is still involved with the church and has found strength in God and the prayers of others throughout this entire experience.

Just after Bryen was born, he had gone through one of Children’s Hospitals first liver transplants here in Seattle. During the transplant, an artificial exit from the liver to the intestines was added, called a "rue." There seems to have been a chronic dilation of Bryen's rue and the area around it, mixed with certain foods that didn’t digest; This caused Bryen to have an extremely painful bowel obstruction.

After hours of immense pain, Bryen was taken to the ER at Evergreen Health in Kirkland, WA. After being at Evergreen for a week, going through numerous scans and non-surgical options, while in constant pain, the doctors decided to transport him to UW Medical for surgery. Once Bryen was situated at UW, he went through a couple more scans to accurately locate and identify the size of the bowel obstruction (about the diameter of a whiffle ball). After a couple of extremely painful days, surgery was the best option. Bryen went through an abdominal surgery where the surgeon spread the concentrate through Bryen's intestines so that when his bowels start working again, the concentrate will be able to pass.

Bryen's surgery was a success, and he is in the recovery stage now. By the time this is over he will have spent over two weeks in two separate hospitals and will have to take at least another two weeks off of work for recovery time (given this was a major surgery). Throughout this process, Bryen’s friends and family frequently visited him and were all concerned for his well-being. Now that the surgery is over and Bryen is in the state of recovery we can now focus on the future. The next step for Bryen is gaining strength and getting back to work. This unexpected health issue will have cost Bryen a total of at least four weeks away from work, in addition to expensive medical bills. That being said, any donation will go a long way to help Bryen recover from this. Money donated will be going towards medical bills, from the hospital stay to surgery costs, as well as compensation for almost a month of lost wages at work.

Thank you again, from the bottom of our hearts to anyone willing to donate to Bryen’s medical expenses, every little bit truly goes a long way.
