The Bryan Bausch Foundation is a non-profit initiative dedicated to raising charity for the Phoenix House of Recovery. BBF is founded in memory of Bryan, who we recently lost fighting his addiction to heroin. Our goal is to keep Bryan's memory alive by organizing the necessary funds to provide adequate room and board to meet the ever-growing demand for treatment of substance abuse.
Before Bryan's journey to recovery could begin (like many others seeking treatment), the lack of available beds caused a lengthy waiting list for admission. Bryan was ready and proactive with his bags packed – calling every day to see if there was room. Unfortunately, the call for an open bed came too late and he paid the price...succumbing to an accidental overdose.
Bryan was light and joy, but he also battled the disease of addiction. He fought this battle with his whole being, but in the end, it was bigger than him, bigger than us, but we can confidently say, it is not bigger than Love.
The Phoenix House is passionate about healing individuals, families and communities challenged by substance use disorders and related mental health conditions. All the money raised through BBF will go directly to the same organization Bryan saw as his opportunity for change.
If Bryan’s joy of life and his ongoing fight against addiction gives one person hope and strength for one more day, and to make one more choice – it will be Bryan’s greatest lesson.
The money collected for the foundation will be presented to the Phoenix House once the campaign goal has been met.
