ABOUT US
Woodpeckers Wood Toys (WWT), is a not for profit start
up founded in 2014 by a network of individuals, artisans,
freelance workers and volunteers that supports children’s
education and creates opportunities for local artisans to
start their own businesses.
Our hard-working team believes that Artsakh has
great potential to develop its export trade and tourism
industries. Through our environmentally friendly and
sustainable initiatives, we seek to transform Artsakh into
an inspirational, dynamic and successful export hub.
WWT is also a founding member of Peace Entrepreneur
Consortium, an association of organizations that believes
whole-heartedly in facilitating conflict resolution in
the region through the creation of socially responsible
companies that create economic prosperity.
All of our handmade products are crafted in the regions
of Artsakh and are packaged and shipped in a timely
fasion from Stepanakert, the capital city of Artsakh.
OUR FOUR-FOLD MISSION
Ensuring Social Responsibility
As we are a socially responsible company, we seek to
ensure environmental sustainability by using existing
remains of wooden materials from factories throughout
Artsakh. By creating our products from recycled material,
we also save money on production, ultimately creating
products that are more affordable. For us, it’s a win-win.
Fostering Children’s Education
The slogan for our brand is “Designed by kids for
kids”. We want our children to be creative directors,
because we truly believe that children are the future
of Artsakh and have the imagination needed to drive
new product development. We are also going to conduct after-
school brainstorming sessions and workshops to teach
children how to use 3D printers and provide them the
tools and resources they need to learn this valuable skill.
Additionally, we donate new products that we make to
orphanages, so that Artsakh’s most vulnerable children
can benefit from our toys.
Driving Innovation
We seek to replace all the Soviet period school workshops
with modern fab-labs in order to create a unique
platform for our production and provide jobs to more
local people.
Creating Opportunity
We help to manufacture and sell products made by
artisans in remote areas of the country. Currently, we
work with nine artisans from different regions, including
Stepanakert. We also work with freelancers, volunteers
& interns to create a new niche market - “Edutainment”
(education + entertainment).
DONATIONS
We need your help to further develop our projects
and expand the services we provide. We are seeking
to fundraise $4,800 to build a WWT Workshop, buy additional equipment and
materials for our toy production, as well as educate more
artisans in remote areas of Artsakh.
We are passionate about our work and fully believe that what we
do offers the citizens of Artsakh greater educational and work
opportunities and ultimately a better quality of life.
